The Arizona Secretary of State, under the supervision of the Corporations Commission, allows searches of its business database by name or entity ID. The available information is located on the entity card and includes ownership details, statutory agent information, and contact details (including mailing addresses). The database will also include a ‘document history’ section that provides access to recent filings made by the business.
Business Entity Search
1. Go to the Arizona Corporations Commission website.
2. Use the Search Options
The main search page allows users to look up an entity, name reservation, or trade name. When performing a search, there are options to look up by:
- Entity Name
- Statutory Agent Name
- Principal Name
- Entity ID
3. Select the Entity from the Search Results
After entering a query, the ‘search results page’ will show all matching entities related to the query. A preview of the entities will appear, including:
- Entity ID
- Entity Name
- Entity Type (e.g., LLC, Corporation, Partnership, Trade Name, etc.)
- Entity County
- Agent Name
- Agent Type (e.g., statutory agent)
- Entity State (e.g,. active or inactive)
4. View the Entity Details Page
On the business entity details page, all public information is available about the entity is shown, including:
- Entity Name
- Entity ID
- Entity Status
- Formation Date
- Reason for Status
- Approval Date
- Status Date
- Original Incorporation Date
- Life Period
- Business Type
- Last Annual Report Filed
- Domicile Status
- Annual Report Due Date
- Original Publish Date
- Years Due
- Statutory Agent Information
- Principal Information (Officers, Directors, etc.)
- Principal Office Information
Previously filed documents (including name/restructuring history, pending documents, and microfilm history) can be visited using the buttons at the bottom of the page. Select the “Document History” button to see the entity’s filing history.
Review the Arizona business entity’s filing history in the table that appears. The record on file can be viewed by selecting the entry in the first column of that row. When satisfied, use the back button to return to the entity information page, then select the “Name/Restructuring History” button to proceed.

If relevant, the different names the business has used or those that are still in use can be viewed in the table that is displayed. Review the columns to discover any other names the business may be known as. When ready, return to the details page and select the “Pending Documents” button.

A record of the paperwork the entity has submitted to the state, which is still pending, is presented in this area. Review the columns provided in the table for details on the paperwork that is currently being reviewed by the state. Return to the entity details page, then use the “Microfilm History” button to continue.
Any documents stored on microfilm can be found with the state by obtaining the information in the first column.
