The Pennsylvania Department of State business entity search page has been set up and maintained by the state government for public inquiry. This gives you the power to check if a business name has been reserved in the State of Pennsylvania, the status of the business that owns it, or to find that Pennsylvania entity’s general and public information.

Two methods are available to search. If you wish to conduct a simple query, merely type in the word you want the Pennsylvania Secretary of State’s business search tool to find, then hit the “Select” button with the mouse.

Select the word “Advanced” in order to run a tighter search for the Pennsylvania entity name. When you do, some basic parameter options will be available. Look through these options to define items such as word placement or dates. Choose the button labeled “Search” after providing your search parameters.
